Welcome to a new month of Scouting! We had probably our biggest turnout ever at the Flying Heritage Museum. I’ve heard only awesome things about the place from my scouts (and husband!). We have lots more fun activities coming up, so please read below.
Wednesday, November 20, 6:30-8:00 at Ben Rush Elementary Common
Pack Meeting: All Things Safety
Come meet your local police officers. Learn about bike, fire and earthquake safety. Get prepared for an emergency. Restock your first aid kit. Safety is an important value of scouting, so please join us as the scouts learn all about it in a fun, hands-on way. Many of the stations will be led by our own Webelos. If you have a first aid kit from last year, please bring it to get restocked. New scouts will be provided with the basics to start their own.
December Service Project: TBD
Service is also an important scouting value. We are working on a service project for December where the scouts can serve their community in a meaningful way. More details to come.
A Look Ahead
There will be NO pack meeting in December.
SAVE THE DATE! Our overnight adventure this year will be to the Museum of Flight, where our scouts can sleep right alongside the airplanes. We have two dates reserved: Friday, January 24-Saturday, January 25 and Saturday February 1-Sunday February 2. More details about this event will come soon.
Scoutbook
All our new families should have received an invitation to login to www.scoutbook.com. This is how we track rank advancements each year, and it allows parents to login to their accounts and add achievements as your scout completes them. Please take some time to familiarize yourselves with the website and begin tracking your scout’s progress. There are some very helpful YouTube videos if you are having any trouble navigating the site. Please contact your den leader if you are having any trouble logging activities.
Attention Microsoft Employees!
For Microsoft employees volunteering with Pack 428, be sure to record your volunteer hours to collect matching dollars. These donations keep our scout fees low and make scouting affordable for as many kids as possible.
- Go to http://give and choose Match Time, or go directly to https://microsoft.benevity.org/volunteer/external/track
- Search for the cause “Pack 428”
- Choose Cub Scout Pack 428 via Lake Washington United Methodist Church and click Add
- Enter your hours, volunteer dates and description of work, then Confirm
- If you are regularly volunteering time, please get in the habit of recording your hours each quarter, as it helps the pack manage the budget.
