December 2019

Wow – December is here already! While there is NO PACK MEETING IN DECEMBER, we have LOTS going on – starting with our service project on December 14. We could use some more scouts to make sure we have enough supplies and hands to fill snack packs. Remember, community service is a requirement for most ranks.

Museum of Flight update: There is still space available for this outing. Even if the weekends fill, we always expect a few spots to open as people’s schedules change, so feel free to sign up to start a waitlist as well.

Happy holidays to everyone!

December Service Project: Snack Bags
Our December service project this year is packing snack bags for the homeless community hosted by the Safe Parking Program at Lake Washington United Methodist Church. LWUMC is our pack sponsor. The Safe Parking program hosts 30-50 people, giving them a safe place to park at night without worrying about getting a ticket or being harassed. The snack bags will be stored at the church so that guests can grab a bag as needed.

There are two different sign ups – 1 to bring food/supplies and 1 to attend the event. Please sign up for one or both (preferred). Donations can be brought directly to the event. Please come on time. Last year our scouts packed the bags so quickly that some late comers missed the event entirely! Also, please bring any large boxes (think Costco/Amazon) that filled snack bags could be stored in.

Pack Outing: Museum of Flight Overnight
As part of this event, we’ll be building rockets, going on a private tour of the museum’s galleries, and taking part in a 2-hour interactive flight program in the Aviation Learning Center. Then a sleepover at the Museum! The program starts at 6pm, and ends at 9am the next morning. There are more details in the signup pages. This event is limited to 25 scouts per night, so you may wish to sign up quickly. It is OK to signup if the event is full. You will be added to a waitlist.
