December 2021 Newsletter

Happy Holidays. As other parts of our life ramp up this time to year, Pack 428 is ramping down to allow a bit more space for family activities. No pack meeting this month, but see below for information on a service project you can do from your own home.

In this issue:

  1. December Service Project – Send cards to home care center
  2. Winter Camp Update
  3. January Pack Meeting
  4. Seattle Trading Post (store) has reopened!
  1. December Service Project

Last year we sent cards and snowflakes to residents at the Emerald Corwin Center. They are super excited to get snowflakes and holiday cards again this year. Last year they hung the snowflakes up all around the entry by string and paper clips, and they posted the pictures/cards all over the walls! They can’t wait to receive them again.

This is an individual service project to do from your home. However, the pack does have cards and supplies for it that you are welcome to use. You can pick up supplies at Ben Rush on 12/1 or 12/8 at 6:30. You are welcome to work on them there or bring them back home with you to mail.

Here is some guidance for cards and snowflakes. Ideally, send both!

Here are some tips for what to say and include in the letter.

  1. Keep it simple
  2. Write big
  3. Be creative! Make them colorful and fun. Pictures are good!
  4. Tell them about YOU!
  5. Sample messages: Sending a smile your way, Have a bright, sunshine-y Day
  6. Make it a letter, tell them about you, and wish them well:
